I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Mine was quite relaxing and I made this beer bread too.
I don’t particularly love drinking stout beer, but I do love baking with it. I bookmarked a recipe last year for a Guinness beer bread, and with St. Patty’s Day right around the corner, I bought some Guinness so I could make it this weekend.

Beer bread is so easy to put together. About five minutes is all you need combine all your ingredients and do a quick mix. And then off in the oven it goes.

I love how crusty the bread comes out. This beer bread was a bit sweeter than ones I’ve had in the past. It works, but next time I might reduce the sugar so I can use this bread for a sandwich or something.
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 bottle of Guinness stout beer
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients into a large mixing bowl, stir until everything is just combined. Careful not to overstir.
- Pour sticky batter into a greased 9 x 5 inch baking loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
